Hastings Speaks: A Day in the Life of a Town
A Day in the Life of a Town
Hastings Speaks will use the art and love of writing to create a lasting record of contemporary Hastings. In doing so, they offer a chance to make connections across the past and present through our everyday lives.
Inspired by the Centre for Mass Observation, Hastings Speaks held a local Diary Day on Thursday 12 May. Residents of 1066 Country recorded a day in the life, and submitted it to the project.
The Hastings Speaks blog will be uploading as many of these diaries as possible to provide a glimpse in to everyday life in 2016, 950 years after the invasion of 1066.
A live literary event will be held in September.
